How to get licensed in Maryland
Meet the basic requirements
You must be at least 18 years old and of good character and reputation.

Take the pre-licensing course
Complete the 60-hour pre-licensing course with an approved education provider, including a 3 clock hour course in real estate ethics.

Pass the exam
The exam is given by PSI in two parts, a national portion and a state portion. You must pass each with a grade of at least 70%. The standard exam fee is $44.

Line up a sponsoring broker
You need a commitment from a licensed Maryland real estate broker that you will be affiliated with that broker when you are licensed.

Apply for your license
Apply within one year of passing both portions or the score expires. The original salesperson license fee is $98, which includes a $20 Guaranty Fund payment.
